Last time I was home in Chicago, I asked my mom if I could have her Swedish cookbook, entitled Swedish Recipes Old and New( 1955). All recipes have been contributed by members of the American Daughters of Sweden and their friends. Well, I took some time to study some recipes tonight, and I came across a strange coffee drink: Coffee with Egg! Here is the recipe for any risk takers out there:
4 cups of cold water
1/2 cup regular grind coffee
4 tsp. beaten egg
4 tsp. cold water
1/4 cup cold water
Bring water to a boil. Just before water boils mix ground coffee, egg and 4 tsp. cold water together. Stir that into boiling water. Let slowly come to a boil, stirring occasionally. Turn of heat, add 1/4 cup cold water. Let stand about 10 mins until coffee grounds have settled.
Bri and I will probably try to make Egg Coffee this weekend. I'll let ya know how gross it is! (or tasty)
